Sandbox is the concept of two self-employed professionals - Roman Gelfer and Sasha Vasilyuk, who after months of working from home, decided to build a workspace for others like them.
After spending many years in the Bay Area, Roman left for the East Coast to get his degree in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University. He then worked for the next several years for two large Wall Street firms as an equities trader. The market is his main passion, but he also enjoys flying planes, camping, and has a passion for science.
Sasha was born in Russia, but grew up in San Francisco. She received a BA in Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley and an MA in Journalism from New York University. Throughout the years, Sasha has had many jobs and hobbies - she started a magazine, performed with a comedy group, and worked in a museum in Italy. Now, Sasha writes for local and international publications.
